Is there something you want to learn to improve your photography?
If there is, then read on...

View David Newton's photography galleriesIn 2007, I was involved in a variety of group tuition courses, covering both wildlife and natural history, and studio photography, as well as smaller 1-2-1 and 2-2-1 personalised sessions.

However, towards the end of 2007, other commitments got in the way and for now, I have had to call a halt to large group courses as I do not have the time to organise them.

In 2008 I will be looking at running some more studio courses with Sid Jervis, but in the meantime, I am utilising the free time I have to concentrate on specific 1-2-1, 2-1-1 and small group courses which give greater access to me and allow me to tailor sessiosn to just what you want to cover. It also allows you to ask the questions you may think are 'stupid' and hence not ask in a large group session.

These small group sessions have covered a whole range of areas, but specifically concentrating on camera techinique and using your camera to it's best effect to improve your photography. Some of the most popular 1-2-1 sessions have been an in-depth look at exposure and how camera meters work, the art of spot metering and getting the shot right in camera, and how to use your Speedlite flashgun effectively in a range of situations among many others.

In 2008, I will be running more of these 1-2-1 sessions as requested. However, if there is something else you want to cover or need help with, please contact me to discuss your requirements. I will find out what you want to cover, and come up with a plan for the session to make sure you get the most out of it.

The sessions are usually half day, as I find in a 1-2-1 situation most people can only cope with half a day before information overload sets in. However, if you want a full day session, that can be arranged too and would usually involve half a day of 'theory' and half a day of 'practical'.
